City and Guilds 1884 Conflict Management Course
The purpose of this course is to provide a qualification for those who are at risk of coming in to contact with various different types of violence in the work place. It will equip workers, trainers, teachers and anyone who interact with fellow workers and the general public.
City and Guilds 1884 (C&G 1884)
This is a Level 2 award. This vocationally related award has been designed by City & Guilds to support government initiatives towards the National Qualifications Framework. It offers a flexible approach to provide individuals with the opportunity to achieve a qualification relevant to their individual learning and business needs.
City and Guilds 1884 Level 2 Certificate in Conflict Management
This is linked to the knowledge and understanding requirements of the SIA (Security Industry Authority) specification for Security Guarding and the City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Providing Security Services. The qualification also maps to the essential knowledge and understanding of units within the Managing Work Place Violence National Occupation Standards (ENTO).
C&G 1884 course is Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA) accredited.

Personal Safety And Physical Intervention Techniques Course
This course will be of value to clients who operate mainly in the security industry, however a course could be moulded to the needs of clients in other sectors that in this day and age are constantly put in violent situations in their place of work.
The techniques taught are the same that have been tried and tested in the most hostile of places and are used by her majesty’s forces and police forces today.
On completing this sylabis you will be more focused, aware, and confident in yourself.
(Unit 1) Laws and Legislation Regarding Use of Force (UK), (Unit 2) Personal Safety and Physical Intervention Techniques.
Course content includes:
- Distraction techniques
- Nerve stuns
- 8 point blocks
- Escorting/guiding
- Containment positions
- Take downs
- Escape techniques
- Third party intervention & take down techniques
- Two and three man rapid intervention techniques (snatch)
Training is realistic and can be physically demanding but is enjoyable, rewarding and self satisfying.
First Aid At Work Courses (FAW)
First Aid at Work (FAW) - The Legal Requirement
Employers have an obligation under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L74) to make adequate and appropriate First Aid Provision for their workforce. It is recommended that someone is able to undertake First Aid duties at all times when people are at work.
First Aid at Work Certificate (FAW) - HSE Recognised
This is a Health & Safety Executive recognised course which fully complies with Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L74 guidelines for the qualification of workplace First Aiders.
First Aid at Work (FAW) - Course Information
Students will receive training in these First Aid at Work (FAW) competencies:
- Aims and Rules of First Aid at Work (FAW)
- Basic Life Support
- Treatment of the unconscious casualty
- Treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked
- Treatment of fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
- Treatment of burns, poisoning and eye injuries
- Treatment of common major and minor illnesses
- Prevention of cross-infection during First Aid at Work (FAW) procedures
- Emergency transport of casualties
- Legal aspects of First Aid at Work (FAW)
First Aid at Work (FAW) Course Certificate
After successful completion of the taught course and a final practical assessment, the student will be awarded the HSE recognised, First Aid at Work (FAW) Certificate which is valid for 3 years.
First Aid at Work (FAW) Course (4 Days)
A First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification will make a positive contribution to the safety of your workplace. After qualifying in First Aid at Work (FAW) you'll have the essential skills to handle any First Aid situation, from minor slips and trips to the most serious of incidents.
First Aid at Work Refresher Course (2 Days)
For those who hold a FAW Certificate that is about to expire. Your FAW Certificate is valid for 3 years and you must re-qualify beforehand if you want to avoid having to do the full 4 day course again.
